While you blame some journalist for not potraying both side of the issue
you seem to be doing the same yourself. The nepalese are responsible for
their owm misery because they came as immigrants and tried to take over
the southern region of our country.  I am sure that you did not hear of
any of the heinous crimes they committed in Bhutan; such as beheading
innocent fellow nepalese that did not join in the uprising against the
govt.  These people deserve what they got and I hope they are never allowed
into Bhutan ever again.

As I remember during the peak of their uprising the nepalese
had made several demands to the government  of Bhutan, and one of these
demands was that southern region be given a new identity and that its
rulers be the nepalese.  This is  what I was referring to when I
said that they tried to take over the southern region.  Also another
interesting fact is that most of the nepalese who were citizens were not
driven out of the country.  They decided to leave on their own accord
despite the Bhutanese government's urging them to stay.  As I remember
the nepalese were offered incentives such as good sums money if they inter
married with Bhutanse.  This just more or less proves that the refugees
in the camp are responsible for their own misery.
Also in your page you seem to infer that it is wrong of the
Bhutanese to try to impose their culture on the Nepalese.  I strongly
disagree  with that point.  I feel that when you are an emigrate to
another country  and if that country wants you to follow its culture you
have to follow it because you made a decision to go and live there and it
is not your country.  Just think about how annoying it would be if you
Americans  had 50 million immigrants from Latin America and they refused to
speak English.  In fact as I remember speaker Gingrich and the
republicans are already introducing  a bill that would make
English the national language of the United States
Once again thank you for your time.  I would like to say that I
really admire you for all the work and effort you have put into this
cause, even though I don't agree with it.  Not many people are willing to
do such things even if they have all the resources and time.

I liked your page very much, and I put a link to it in my new, very
modest page on human rights on Bhutan
(http://www.best.com/~mlacabe/saran/bhutan.html).

the refugees are not bhutanese citizens, they are nepali citizens
put there by the nepali government because nepal gains a lot
from the international refugee organisations

the refugees in nepal are not bhutanese,
please don't call them bhutanese, call them nepalis.
